Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Improving your posture not only helps you stand taller and prouder, but also helps to improve the performance of your entire body.

There is no good or bad posture, there is only posture that is a result of your life, your experiences and your environment. Many people think posture simply entails sitting up straight. Although this is a great result of improved posture, it is so much more than that. Posture influences the functionality and health of your limbs and joints and it reveals where pain originates and why.

Through the Posture Program, we discover how your daily movements have shaped the way you sit, stand and move. With this information, I develop a series of stretches and mobilizations to practice daily that will help you to align your body with the way that it most optimally moves.

The many benefits of healthy posture and movement include reduced or eliminated pain, increased ability to perform strength building & daily activities and a deeper understanding of your body and what it is capable of.

The Posture Program is for everyone! Whether you are a professional athlete or a Great Grandmother, we can all use this program to help ourselves feel great.

FAQs

How long is the assessment?

Virtual Posture Assessments are 1.5 hours and in person assessments are 2 hours.

What is a plumb-line?

A plumb line is a string or rope that hangs from the ceiling or doorway. It dissects your body in left and right halves and front and back halves, so I can see the imbalances between those areas.

Is a postural assessment only meant to happen once?

Yes. We do assessment once and then do a 20-30 min follow-up assessment 6-8 weeks later, no additional charge. If more work is needed or desired, we move into program design options.

How do I set up a plumb-line?

Attach a thin rope or string to the ceiling or a door frame with tape and allow the string to come just an inch or so from the floor. Tie a key or something weighted at the end to weigh it down. You will stand behind the plumb line so I can see the plumb line in front of you. If you're placing the plumb in front of a wall, ensure there is ample space for you to move around between the wall and plumb. Try to use an area that's well lit with minimal obstructions behind you. An iPhone or smartphone is usually better quality, but can be difficult to prop up without some type of stand. In this case, a computer is fine as long as it has good quality. Make sure I can see you from head to toe.

Do I need equipment for the program?

Nope! If you do an assessment with me, I will create a program that utilizes just your body weight, or will give you all the details you need for equipment to purchase.

When do we talk? How often?

I will check in with you every 1.5-2 weeks throughout the program. In addition, we can talk as often as needed! It’s vital for your progress that I be available for questions or concerns! I’m always available via email and can usually answer within 1-2 days.

How do I know if my posture needs improving?

Everyone can benefit from improved posture. It is how we begin and end movement and is a result of repetitive movement. If you want to stand taller, stand prouder, or diminish chronic or acute pain, improving posture will help and can help discover the root cause.

What happens when I finish the program?

We meet and discuss your progress and develop new strength goals!

MOVEMENT IS MEDITATION WE SHOULD PRACTICE EACH DAY.
